In this Voice of America Afrique interview she explains how she came to be devoted to electrification of the DRC.

Professor Mubenga is an Assistant Professor of Engineering Technology at the University of Toledo, USA, where she earned a BSc, MSc and PhD in electrical engineering with honors. For her research, she hybridized an electric vehicle by integrating a fuel cell and developing a solar-powered hydrogen production plant (EECS Most Outstanding Thesis Award). For her doctoral thesis, she is developing a patented battery management system for storing energy from large Li-ion batteries used in electric vehicles and network applications.

She has won the 2018 Engineer of the Year Award from the Toledo Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE), USA. She has expertise in renewable energy systems, photovoltaic system design and integration, energy management, MV distribution planning, electric vehicle and battery management.

Transcript:  hello ladies and gentlemen we are today in the company of professor Sandrine Mubenga who has come from come from toledo university and become a personality in the world of Science in the US and in the world at large.

She has been recognized with many awards and has come to Washington by invitation to meet with President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
